I just wish to convert a video that was made on iMovie into a DVD. I have an iMac with macOS Sequoia 15.7.1

You will need a CD/DVD drive + authoring app in order to create & burn playable DVDs.

I suggest looking at the Pioneer Optical BDR-XD08S or the OWC Mercury Pro drives. I have the predecessor to the XDS08S and it works perfectly. (One note, the OWC unit comes with a power supply; the Pioneer doesn't so you would need to add that to your order.

Regarding software, Roxio Toast is often recommended and it may be the closest thing to Apple's former iDVD app. There are other DVD authoring apps around, some even freeware, but I don't have any experience with them.

If you want to create a DVD-Video disc – like the ones that you would use with DVD players meant for TV sets – you will need authoring software, such as Toast. (Long ago, Apple had a DVD authoring program called iDVD – but they stopped updating it, and it won't run on Catalina, let alone Sequoia.)

The other alternative would be to create video files meant for a computer, and put them on DVD data discs. Some DVD players meant for TV sets can play such files, but that's an optional feature that old players may not have.

I have an earlier version of MartinR's WC Mercury Pro (without the M-disk capability) which I use to rip audiobooks (ripped over 200 books since I got it) and it runs fine.

Also if you want to create a video DVD like iDVD did in its day give DVD Maker Lite - DVD Creator from the App Store. The download version is the free light version for seeing if you like it but will add a watermark to the slideshows. For more features you'll need to purchase a perpetual version or the subscription version. I have features that are similar (but definitely as easy to use) as iDVD. It was a great loss when iDVD was dropped.
