Messages not deleting automatically on iOS 26

I have an iPhone 17 pro max and I am currently on iOS 26.0.1. I have messages set on keep messages for 30 days but it doesn’t delete for whatever reason. I have everything enabled properly and I even did a share screen with Apple’s tech support and they confirmed that I have everything enabled properly but can’t figure out why my messages don’t get deleted. Can anyone help please, I’ve done every troubleshooting that there is but nothing works.
