I received a text saying my contact, to help if I couldn't get into my account, was removed.

The text message said to sign into the account and use a different contact. It was from my apple account but using the email Apple gives you, last name.first name initial @icloud.com I have never used that. I have it transferred to my main email account, which is not icloud, gmail, or aol. And one of the contacts I would not have used since I only recently met her. It was in my phone with her name & the name of my friend who would be the contact. I had the friends name so I knew who she was when I saw it. (I know her better now) Why were they removed? I did not remove them. i also received the message at my regularly used email. Which is how all apple messages get to me. It was also on my other 3 apple devices.
