mail version 16.0 fails with comcast to yahoo migration

I have migrated my comcast email to yahoo (still uses comcast.net but now hosts on yahoo). the issue is trying to mail 16.0 configured to allow me to connect to yahoo using myname@comcast.net. mail still wants to setup inbound and out bound servers as comcast.net - even when I use the Yahoo mail selection. running macOS Ventura 13.7.8 (22H730) and mail 16.0 (just upgraded last week before the migration).. I can connect and configure mail on iPhone and iPad so thinking there is something amiss with the mail 16.0 release. thanks in advance for any and all help.
