Anyone else have horrible search experience in messages?

Just within the last few weeks the search function within messages has become absolutely unusable. I search a name of someone I have texted within the past week or two, and nothing shows up. I search a phrase I’ve used in the past week (multiple times)… crickets… anyone else experiencing this? This is so frustrating! I have to manually scroll through all of my messages just to find a text string.
