iTunes disc burner not found

Hello, I am running Windows 11 on a recently purchased laptop, with an external CD drive. When trying to burn a playlist from iTunes to a CD, I get the error "disc burner or software not found". I've tried burning at a lower speed, burning as a data cd and mp3, reinstalling iTunes (12.13.9.1), all to no avail. I can't find a good solution in the past discussions. Any clues? Thanks!
