Can't open text thread from one sender

I am unable to open a text thread from my sister who uses an Android phone. She sent me a text message and then a voice message. When I open messages and tap on the text thread from her, not only does it not open the thread but the Message app closes and things revert to my home screen. She has since sent me other texts. Notifications show up, but I cannot open the thread. Other message threads open normally. I have restarted my phone and the Message app. Her number is not blocked on my phone. I have an iPhone 15 running iOS 26.0.1 and am up to date.
