How does "Siri Found a Contact" and "The sender is not in your contact list" appear for the same text message?

I received a junk text for which Siri says it "found a contact" with an "Add" prompt, then at the bottom of the text, just above where it says "Report Junk" it says "The sender is not in your contact list". What is going on? It's a junk text, so of course I'm not adding it, but why does it say it found a contact when clearly it did not?

"Siri found a contact" only happens if the number is not already saved. It means that Siri has found what it deems to be a reference somewhere else, like email. For example, I might get a call from a work colleague who I don't have in my contacts (pretty common as most communication is done by email). Siri might say that it found a contact because that person has their phone number in their email signature.

Sometimes, though, it's quite wrong.
