3rd gen AirPods unresponsive even when plugged in

left my AirPods at home on the charger during the course of the day and came back to a dead and unresponsive case. Light indicator wont even show up and earbuds have no charge even when plugged into charger. Can this problem be fixed or am I in need of a replacement?
