Safari 26.0.1 – Autofill password animation slows down login

After updating to Safari 26.0.1 on macOS, I noticed that when a saved password is autofilled, the password field slides or animates toward the end before settling. This short animation delays the login button from being clickable right away.

In previous versions(before 26.0), the password filled instantly with no animation or delay.

Is there a way to disable this new autofill animation or revert to the old instant-fill behaviour? It’s a small thing, but it slows down quick logins noticeably.

Is there a particular website(?) example or all websites including these forums?

Do you have TouchID(?)— not clear what exact Mac is this or exact macOS...

You can quit the Safari.app and relaunch it holding the Shift key down, and compare your results.

I have the same issue as JonasZ918. The shift-restart of Safari didn't fix it. It happens on all websites when using password autofill after you select the username. If you have a long email address and long password, watching the animation every time you log in is super painful while you wait for the distinct bullet points to fill in one character at a time. It's only a couple seconds each time, but it prevents the login button from being clickable and kills the user flow.
