Yes it does work, I have a iMac with the M1 chip and I am running Tahoe 26.11. Works perfectly.

This speaker system is no longer supported by Bose and there is nothing on their support pages that helps.

If the Bose audio gear is strictly Bluetooth and does not require an app, it’ll very likely work.

If the gear needs an app for some reason, results can be mixed. Depends on the app.

In either case, pair it, and see if it works.

Bose has some audio gear with documentation that implies it needs an app too, but I’ve used it successfully without.

If you’re buying this gear sight unseen, the answer you’ll get depends on how much you trust the seller to be around after the sale.

The Bose Companion 5 is only USB B TO USB C (with new cord - used to be to USB A), no bluetooth - don't I wish! There is no app for it, and it works great with its new cord and Sequoia 15,7.1. on my Mac Studio computerI am afraid to upgrade to Tahoe lest this speaker system not work, and I have never found any other speakers with such great sound. Also, I have changed out the Acoustamas bass module twice. Love this sound system and I don't want to lose it to Tahoe 26.

Thanks, MrHoffman! Eventually, I will have to upgrade my Studio to 26, for the Security updates, and to work with my iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPad Pro, which both are upgraded, as is my MacBook Pro M2. The Mac Studio M3 Ultra is my main computer and, as such, I am searching information on possible problems and fixes for same before I upgrade. Because I am a musician and teacher, I need great sound, and there is nothing that I have had ("computer" speakers) that even comes close to my Bose system. When I upgraded my first Mac Studio to Sonoma, I had no sound at all from my Bose, until I found a fix on this Community forum - a tiny, new setting in System Settings which I needed to turn on! After over 20 years of using my Bose system with several Mac Pros, an iMac, The "Trash Can," and 2 Mac Studios, I am loath to be without them.
