I used to be able to access an option to select one photo as a Key Photo (or 'Make Album Cover') and now there is nothing I can do.
So am I supposed to just read the text of an album, instead of use an easy-to-recognize IMAGE in a PHOTO APP to differentiate from all the albums?

It used to work in macOS Monterey as well, the same way as described by Richard.
But we cannot set a key photo for every kind of album. Are you trying to set a key photo for a smart album? That is not possible. And we cannot set a key photo for Shared albums.

I'm afraid I don't really remember how Monterey worked-- I'm still struggling with where I put my extra power bank yesterday. So is the option just not listed in the pop-up menu?
