Can rsync be used to upload files to iCloud on M1?

When I want to share some large files with a friend I can drop them into a shared iCloud directory on my M1. But sometimes this takes a while to actually upload them the iCloud server. I'm wondering if it is possible to access the cloud drive using rsync or a similar tool?
