Diagonal lines wiggle with screen protector on brand new iPad Pro

Hey! So I got a brand new iPad Pro, the newest one I believe. I am an artist, so I only got it to be able to draw remotely. Unfortunately, I have had an issue with this, Unlike the previous one I had.

When I draw diagonally on procreate, or anything, the lines become squiggly. This is extremely frustrating as I do a lot of line work, so all of my lines that go on a diagonal, curved or straight, wiggles now. I’ve already taken it in, and the person there said they’ve never seen this before. Upon doing more research, I realized that this has been an issue for months now possibly with other devices of other models. It seemed to be somewhat fine when I didn’t have a screen protector on it but the second I put on a screen protector on, it intensified. What was a small wiggle became way too much. But if I don’t have a screen protector, my screen is going to become damaged, and the wiggle is still there just not as prevalent. We’ve tried my Apple Pencil on other products and it was fine. We tried other Apple pencils on this product and it’s still wiggled. I’ve taken off the screen protector and it’s still there. They’re just not as drastic and you’d probably only noticed if you are the artist drawing or are looking at it for a moment. I’ve tried different brands of screen protectors, and I just can’t keep buying new screen protectors only to have the same issue.

is this a prevalent issue with others still, and what do I do? Do I just draw without a screen protector and damage the screen on my iPad?

I should note that when I took it in, they had to replace the entire thing I believe... I just got it back. It’s still doing the same thing.

i’m sorry, I just really don’t know what to do…

You indicate that your iPad operates as expected without your screen protector. As such, you have already identified the source of your difficulties.

Not all screen protectors work particularly well with iPad and/or Apple Pencil. Cheap, off-brand, or no-name screen protectors are notorious for causing issues with touch recognition and Apple Pencil performance.

If using a screen protector, choose a good quality well known brand. Arguably, the best screen protectors for iPad are laminated glass. In this sphere, Zagg are amongst the most often recommended here; Zagg has an impeccable reputation for iPad screen protectors, backed-up with a lifetime replacement warranty.
