Cannot add Apple Pencil to Find My list on iPad Pro

Apple Pencil issue

11” iPad Pro with Apple Pencil Pro.

1. apple pencil pro issue. 1st Apple pencil showed on "Find My" list but did not show a location. would attach / remove from iPad pro 11" and use in apps. works fine. so... I deleted it from the list and tried to add back to list "+, add Apple pencil" 
2. Now when trying to add Apple Pencil to Find My list I am told it is already there and cannot be added. However, it does not show on the list.
3. Still works with apps on iPad.
