Missing photo editing options on MacBook Air

I've always been able to rotate, enhance the color and clarity of all of my photos on my Macbook. Now those options no longer exist. Is this yet another glitch in the latest Mac update?

Many of those functions lie within Edit mode, which is accessed by clicking on the "Edit" button at the upper right corner of the screen while viewing the picture you intend to edit.

The sequence becomes the following:

Double-click a photo within the Years/Months/All Photos view (or an Album or another view).

Click on the "Edit" button.

Perform whatever edits you want.

Click on the "Done" button.

Since most of us can still do that, you will have to tell us what steps you are trying to tale and where the process starts to fail to meet your expectations. Please remember that we cannot see your screen.

Can you not initiate Edit mode at all?

Can you get into Edit mode, but then not find (for example) the rotate control?

Can you find the various controls, but do they not work? Do they cause Photos to give an error message or crash?

At the top of the screen, when in Photos, there used to be several options to edit your photo: crop, clean up, adjust and another. Selecting one of those would take you to a more detailed list and advanced options to edit from. This is now gone and replaced with Years, Months, All Photos. I hope this clarifies my issue and really appreciate your input.
