safari x button on mouse hover tab removed on safari 26.0.1

Hello, I've noticed the new version of safari for macOS removed the x button to close tabs on hover, previously if you had a bunch of opened tabs just by hover you can close a bunch of them when needed, now is extremely annoying to click the tab you want to close and then close it or right click and select close, does anyone has found the solution to fix this? or how can i revert to the previous version of safari?
