Message problem with group that contains an android user

My wife and I have identical iPhones (version 15, iOS 26.0.1). Our message apps are setup identically. We share the same carrier account. She doesn’t get messages from group texts that have an Android user. I do. My message response window says “Text Message - RCS.” Her message response window says “Text Message - SMS,” even though her message app has the RCS mode switched on in the Settings. What is the problem?

Re: Message problem with group that contains an android user

Seems Messages between Apple users use wi-fi (blue bubbles), yet messages between Android and Apple devices use cellular data (charges may apple depending on the carrier) (green bubbles).

Wondering whether you both use the same carrier:

Permission to use cellular data for messages may need to be enabled

and / or

Wi-fi assist is generally on by default, to switch from wi-fi to cellular as needed, yet that may have been turned off.
