Showing up twice in a group text in iMessage; can’t remove duplicate

Re: I am showing up twice in Group Text and can't undo it : I am showing up twice as a member of a group chat in iMessage. I was only able to "leave" as contact, but I am still in there as a contact that I can't remove.

Try checking that you only have one "Contacts" card listed in the "Contacts" app.

Eg: says:

"You can only leave a group conversation if there are at least three other participants.

1. Go to the Messages app  on your Mac.
2. Select a group conversation.
3. Click the contact or group icon at the top, scroll down below the list of members, then click Leave this Conversation.

If you want to stay in the group conversation but stop receiving message notifications, select the Hide Alerts checkbox. See Manage notifications from Messages."
