iOS 26 Pencil settings not sticky

The settings for the pencil in both Freeform and notes are no longer sticky, the stroke width and colour reset to default after reopening the apps, unless I recall incorrectly the settings used to persist even after closing the app and reopening until you changed the setting again.

Is this a bug?
