Hide sidebar iPad Mail iOS 26

I like to read my email full screen on my iPad, so I used to just click from one full screen to the next email without having to go back to the sidebar list to click on the next email. In iOS 26 I can’t figure out how to do this. I can double click an email to view it without the sidebar, but then I have to close that one and go back to the list to open the next one. To read them with the sidebar showing is very annoying. The column is so narrow. Even in landscape mode it’s still there. I’ve been able to widen the email column in Landscape mode, but it’s not enough.
