Saving as new video after trimming

Is the Save as New Video function gone in iOS18???

I just want to keep 10 seconds of a long video but after trimming it saves the edit onto the original file and it’s still 3GB which is the original length!!!!

how can I just cut out 10 seconds to send to a friend?!

Trim the video down to what you want to send. Then click on Done and this window will pop up:

Then you can click on Save Video as New Clip and it will appear next to the original as a shortened clip that you can export or send directly from the Photos library.
