How to have audio on AirPods Pro 3 while doing mirroring Fitness+ from iPhone onto Macbook Pro?

I'm betting that I'm not the only person with this issue: Having only an iPhone and a MacBook Pro, I considered putting the Fitness+ workouts from iPhone to a bigger screen, as this is much more comfortable to use (honestly, if you've never done a move, doing it on just the phone screen is a terrible experience).

Now comes my problem: For some reason, I'm able to connect my MacBook via Airplay with my HiFi setup, and then I can set the Macbook as a target for the workout in Fitness+. However, when my Watch isn't charged, I thought the new feature of the AirPods Pro 3 would be useful to play music via them, having the ability to track the heart rate as well. I tried multiple things, like directly selecting the AirPods on the Mac and unselecting them on the phone, but I was never successful. Honestly, it is a shame that this is either impossible or just so hard to do that I couldn't figure it out. Would be nice to have a solution, because now my training was 40 minutes of sitting to try things and giving up after several rounds of trying.
