Smart Keyboard Does Not Show Shortcuts Menus
I have an iPad Air M3 13” with an Apple Smart Keyboard; the operating system is iPad OS 26.01. When I am in an application and long press the cmd key for shortcuts nothing happens. I have tried multiple Apple and non-Apple apps. Also, when I am on the Home Screen and long press the Globe key it shows nothing but it should show systemwide shortcuts. I have researched this and found suggestions for correcting problems like this and here is what I have done…
- Removed the iPad from the keyboard and cleaned the connections on the iPad and the Keyboard.
- Checked all the keyboard settings including any Accessibility items that may be causing a problem.
- Made sure I am up to date on iPad OS updates.
- Reset all settings.
- Performed an hard reset.
After doing all these things a couple of times I still get the same result. I have only had the iPad and the Smart Keyboard less than a month. Please provide some guidance as to what I should do next.
