Way too often I plug my original new charger in, I feel a vibration, charge status shows, and itty bitty teeny weeny infinitesimal bolt shows upper right. I put it on stable surface, check it again to make sure it is charging and an hour later it's dead - 0.

Hi, your phone charger may be faulty so I recommend buying a new one. Third party ones are ok but you could use a apple-made charger, if this doesn't work, Get your phone fixed at any trusted place, they will have a good fix.

Thanks. This is the original Apple charger, fairly new. I generally don't get 3rd party stuff unless it's got a *really* good reputation. I've heard from long time Apple users that their chargers are the only bane of their products.
