Couldn’t complete backup - WhatsApp - new iPhone 17

Hi all,


I have been unable to connect to WhatsApp desktop and believe the issue could be with WhatsApp failing to do a back up I get the error message - ‘Couldn’t complete back up. Tap “Back Up Now” to try again.’


I have tried all the classics - restarting phone, signing in and out of iCloud, updating apps, ensuring good internet connection, deleting back up to start again, and toggling WhatsApp backup on and off in iCloud but I’m getting the same error message on every attempt. I’m having no issues with WhatsApp Business on the same phone.


WhatsApp AI support didn’t give any answers beyond what I had already tried.


I am now completely backup-less and so would love to avoid deleting WhatsApp! Any ideas anyone? Thanks.
