watchOS 26.0.2 only plays music list one at a time not continuously or shuffle

I upgrade my watch to OS 26.0.2 and on this morning's workout noticed that selecting the playlist and choosing either shuffle or continuous has no effect. The playlist only plays one song at a time then stops. I'm presented with the current song and a list of others in the list under "Continue Playing" but I have to touch the next song on the list to get it to play. When that finishes, I have to repeat the process. I tried choosing the Music app, choosing the playlist, choosing Shuffle but it stops after each song. Makes running difficult when you're constantly having to tap your phone to manually select the next song to play.
