Lightning digital av adapter scam QR code

I transferred my lightning digital av adapter to a tv on a different wifi network. I had used it on this tv before with no problems but now when I try to use it a QR code pops up on the TV screen that links to a scam website. Luckily I googled the site before subscribing but each time I plug the adapted in the same QR code appears and I can’t get past it to activate the cast function. Anyone else have this issue? How do I get rid of the QR code or stop it popping up each time?
