Batch compressing photos on iPad Pro while retaining original date

I have an iPad Pro with 1TB of storage. I use various apps, but the main use is to store photos taken on a good DSLR. I download the direct from the card, and the file size is Huge! I store them in date order, and can usually find what I want fairly quickly. I have tried various compression apps, but they create new files, which Apple stores under today’s date, thus making them impossible for me to find. Is there a batch compression app that retains the cameras date?

jpgs are already compressed about as much as they can be without losing more information. It looks like I can get maybe 10% compression on jpg and Nikon NEF (Raw) files, and then they can't be read by Photos-- hardly worth the trouble. HEIC files don't compress any further at all. Are you compressing to zip files? What format is your camera producing?

How large are your files? My Nikon's NEF files are 50-60MB; the jpgs are 20-35MB. I store and process the raw files separately and only use jpgs in Photos.
