DNG previews look great in Apple Photos 11.0 but exported JPGs look terrible

I'm shooting RAW DNG in Halide on iPhone 12 mini. The photos look incredible in these places:

1. iPhone photos app
2. Mac OS Photos 11.0 full size view
3. Mac OS Finder thumbnails and quicklook (identical to Photos 11.0)

They look terrible in these places:

1. Preview app
2. Mac OS Photos 11.0 gallery view
3. Exported JPGs from Photos 11.0

They are all way too contrasty with all highlights blown out and thick overly dark shadows.

In short, how can I get a JPG version of what I see on either the phone cameras app or the full size view in Photos 11.0. Whatever processing those are using are perfect and far superior to shooting in JPG on the phone.
