I can't find the option to change the speed of a slideshow cq. the time of the photos in the photos app. While playing the slideshow I can’t find where see 'normal' and 'short', but that doesn’t make no difference. Where are the different time-options in seconds?

We lost that ability somewhere along the way as slideshows and memories merged. You can tell Apple that this function mattered to you through their formal feedback path for Photos:
