iOS 26 Finder: Swipe-to-view images feature removed

As late as iOS 18, when using Finder to display the contents of a folder and the contents were images and you clicked on one, the image thumbnail would enlarge to full screen. Then to view the next image you swiped left. And to view a previous image, you swiped right.

iOS 26 doesn’t have a way that I have found to do that. Seemingly, you have click “Done”, and touch another image name. Why take away the convenience?

For a start, there is no Finder in iOS 26 (or any iOS version)l Finder is a Mac feature. So it isn’t clear what you mean.

Actually, the Quick Look does work, although nowhere nearly as smoothly as previously with the iOS version of Finder, which I have no idea what its real name is, but works like Finder on the iMac.

P.S. I don't suppose the Kilgore has any link to Kilgore, TX. That's near my hometown of Longview, TX. Just curious.

No it wasn’t obvious. It was incorrect.

As far your issue goes, the Quick View is still there: tap an hold on an image until the menu appears, select Open With, then Preview with Quick look. Reopen the image and it should allow you navigate as you describe. The Preview app, which provides other functionality is the new feature.

Finder - Files. So, no Finder, but Files (Apple app), functions similarly to iMac Finder. I would have thought that was obvious.
