Cannot import any photos from my iPhone 16 into Photos on my new iMac.

I have bought a new iMac with Sequoia 15.6 and cannot import any photos (mostly jpeg)from my new iPhone 16 or anywhere else into Photos on the iMac.(see screenshot)

I can import them onto my Macbook Air no probs.

Please help!

Sounds weird. Where is the Photos library stored? Should be on APFS or MacOS Extended -formatted volume (other formats are not supported and might produce your issue)?


Not that it should matter, but have you really set the new iPhone to shoot .jpg instead of .heic? Can you import with Image Capture.app? Have you installed any 3rd party apps to the new iMac that might intervene (virus apps or "cleaners" in particular)?


An EtreCheck report would eliminate much other guesswork:
