Can't purchase music on the Apple Music app on the Mac

I'm trying to buy some music, but when I go to purchase a song by pressing the "$1.29" button, it grays out for a second, then becomes black again. I'm signed in, my credit card is up to date, I've authorized my computer, and I'm not an Apple Music Subscriber; I'm simply trying to buy some songs. I'm using macOS Tahoe. Anybody else having the same issue? When will a fix become available? Thank you in advance.
