USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter does not work on iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 26 but works on other devices

After upgrading to the new iOS26, the adapter only worked once after a dozen attempts. Now it no longer works. I tried the adapter on other devices and it works normally on them. Any suggestions?
