After updating to iOS 26 every time I delete a text message I get this prompt even if the person is on my contact list. It’s kind of annoying. Prior to the update it only happened if it were an unknown contact. Can I turn this option off for known contacts?

I don't even get that option any more!
Delete a conversation - but not block- so when a group that includes my contacts, posts to the group chat again... it pops up in my feed.
What did you do to keep the option to Delete and Block?
Same thing here. I haven't tried to delete any groups, but EVERY individual 'conversation', even with known contacts, shows the "Delete and Block" option. I don't want to accidentally hit that and miss messages from a KNOWN CONTACT.
Apple needs to disable that, or make it an option somewhere in settings.
I agree. It needs to be an option to turn off "delete and block". When you are quickly deleting text messages, it would be too easy to accidentally hit that and not know. This is a terrible new feature and it should be optional.

i just noticed this bug in iOS 26. Apple please give option to not block especially for contacts.
