I have a 20$ Apple Store in my Wallet that I'd like to be able to use. Ideally to pay for the next two months of cloud storage (9.99$ a months) but it never is available as a payment method. Am I missing something?

Please follow this path,
iPhone > Settings > Your Name (at top of screen) > Apple Account login may be required > Payment & Shipping > does Apple Account show at top of list?
There’s no such thing as an Apple Store balance. Are you referring to your Apple Cash or Apple Account balance?

It's an Apple Store Gift Card apparently, with a 20$ balance. It says in the conditions that it can be used at an Apple Store. I assumed, because it's in my phone wallet, it could be used for monthly cloud storage payment too.
I see what you meant by those things being different. Yes, the account shows and the balance is 0. That's a gift card in my wallet. I learned something today. :)
