Contact notes entered on Mac don't appear on phone.

Using a 2025 Macbook Pro and an iPhone 17, both with contacts synched to iCloud in the same Apple account. Contact notes entered on the computer do not appear when the same contact is viewed via the contact app on the phone. I've found old posts about this same problem from as far back as 2017, and I've tried all the workarounds (including restarting; editing a contact, entering then deleting a single character in the notes field, etc.). Nothing has worked.
