apple pencil text inserting at end of paragraph, not where i placed the cursor
This is a repeated frustration when using the Apple Pencil in write-to-text mode. If I spot a missing word or want to correct a word in existing text, despite selecting the word or inserting a cursor where I want the missing word, the new text is inserted at the end of the whole block of text. I can see that I’ve inserted a cursor where I need it to be but the text is always inserted elsewhere. The only solution I’ve found is to activate the keyboard, press space in the desired insertion point then close the keyboard and resume writing. This is a time-consuming faff. If the keyboard insertion works, why doesn’t the handwriting to text feature understand that the cursor is where I want text to be entered?
NB someone else asked this question and the answer provided was not a solution, didn’t address the issue and the community expert closed the thread for further comments. I’d appreciate a proper answer and opportunity to respond please.
