Apple pencil not connecting sometimes since ipados 26 update

Hello! I am an artist who uses my apple pencil frequently, and i am having difficulty. since updating to ipados 26 my apple pencil 2 is sometimes not connecting to my ipad pro 11 inch gen 2. sometimes it is, sometimes it is not. it seems completely random. i have tried everything everyone suggests and nothing seems to help. there’s no pattern in getting it to connect.
