I've got an iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 15.
I've just recently discovered that you can share photos and videos in Photos after you've created a shared photo album.
This is working great - however I noticed that I cannot rotate a video in the shared album - even if the video has already been rotated in my own (non-shared) Photos album.
Any idea how to rotate a video in a SHARED Photos album?

You have to rotate it before you add it to the Shared Album. So for those that need rotation you can delete them from the Shared Album, rotate them and add back to the SA. Unfortunately, they will not be in the original order.

Photos in a shared album are copies created for sharing. After you share them, you can no longer edit them, they are out of your control, like a letter you dropped into a mailbox.
