Apple Pencil not recognized by iPad in iOS 26

Since I updated to 26, my iPad won’t connect to my 1st gen Apple Pencil unless I plug it in. The iPad is new, I don’t know what name that has… 16 or something. Is this happening to anyone else and is it a known iOS 26 issue?
