How to enable location data on iPhone 16 Photos

Switched from iphone 12 to iphone16 a couple months ago. The new photos don't show location. Went back and found that the location was set to off in Settings/security/camera. Is the location data hidden somewhere. Is there a hidden source of location data on the photo metadata that I can put on the photos I've taken since i started using this phone?
