Photos saved from download not showing

Okay I have tried to figure this out on google and haven't had any luck.

Here's the situation.. I am trying to save my wedding photos from my photographers site. I download the photos to my iPhone files then I save the images in the file to my camera roll.

Here's the issue. The photos WILL show in my photo library but won't show up in my favorites album after I favorite them and If I were to go to my messages app and try to send a photo from there they would not show up either.

I can't find anything g explaining this or what to do about it either. Please help. Duplicating the photo won't fix it. But screenshotting the photo does but that doesn’t seem like the best solution. Especially if I want to preserve the original photo quality.

this has also happened to me when saving a photo from the messages app that someone sent me.
