Shared photo Albums Keeping Location (meta data) for all added photos

I have many shared albums. However, when pictures from various friends are added to the shared album the location (meta data) is not retained. Without using iCloud library sharing (very limited in its use) how do I make sure that the meta data (location) stays with the photos added to the shared albums
