Iphone doesn't show in finder under OS26

I've tried to connect my iPhone to my Mini Mac but since updating to Tahoe OS26 it's not recognised and no matter what I do (change cable, port etc) I can't get it to show hence I can't back it up.

I have OS26 running on the iPhone too, I'm changing from a 15 Pro to a 17 Pro and want to use the Mac as the transfer/setup device as I have a chronically slow internet connect so using iCloud is a no go. It was recognised and backed up under the previous operating system without issue.

Can you verify the Locations caret is spun open...? Move your mouse to the right side to reveal it.

verify iOS devices selected in the Finder>Settings>sidebar

I did this (in fact it was already set to show). I've reset Location & Privacy, and reset Network Settings on the iPhone, restarted both the iPhone and MacBook Pro (both running the very latest system softwares), and still my mac won't see the iPhone. This was not a problem before the combination of iOS26.0.1 and Tahoe. I'm at a loss at this point. I guess a call to Apple is warranted.
