Copy from Notes to Mail black text dark mode iOS 26

After updating to iOS 26 (non-beta), I noticed that when I copy any text from Apple Notes and paste it into Apple Mail while both apps are in dark mode, the pasted text appears black instead of adapting to dark mode (white or light gray).

The result is essentially invisible text on the dark background in Mail. This doesn’t happen when copying from Notes to other apps, and it works normally in light mode.

Repro steps:

Open Notes in dark mode

Type any text

Copy and paste into Mail app (also in dark mode)

The text appears black and is unreadable unless highlighted

I’ve attached screenshots to demonstrate. This bug only appeared after updating to iOS 26 and didn’t exist in iOS 18

I am using dark mode. I have replicated this issue on 3 devices (two ipads and one iphone) on iOS 26.0.1 and 26.1. Using the Mail app, I will copy text from an email and paste it into a new email; the text will be black and blend into the background (just like the screenshot above). The text does not display as white like it should. When I switch to light mode, the text displays correctly.

This also happens when replying, in dark mode. When I reply to an email, the text thread is black and blends into the background. This only started to happen when upgraded to the new iOS 26.

Is there any solution yet for this major problem?
