Hi folks,
I just updated Safari and now it is exhibiting an unwanted behavior. I depend on tab groups, and now when I click around in and out of my different groups, every tab for the group expands in the sidebar.
My question: how do I prevent a tab group from displaying every member item in the sidebar every time I click on the group?
I'm running macOS Sonoma 14.7.1.

How would wiping your machine and starting from scratch change Safari Tab Group behavior? This is a Safari bug, plain and simple. Wild that they suggested wiping your machine and starting from scratch would fix it. The least they can do is offer a setting to turn auto-expand on or off.
This change is completely ruining the value of Safari Tab Groups for me. I can no longer easily jump between Tab Groups because when I click on a Tab Group the list just jumps around. Please change the Tab Group behavior back to what it was before.
That's what I said. The behavior began after I installed the most recent Safari update, so I believe the rep was making the assumption that this was an intentional design change to the browser. They argued for wiping the machine as the only way for me to use an earlier version of the browser.
Hopefully, it is a bug and they will provide an update to fix. The rep was not fielding my question as if it was though. Not at all.
It’s awful. After 60 minutes of discussion, Apple said the only way to fix it was to wipe the machine and start from scratch.
