iPadOS 26 Preview lag when annotating PDFs with Apple Pencil Pro

Hi all-- have others been experiencing lag on iPadOS 26 when using Preview to view and annotate PDFs? I found that using the Apple Pencil Pro on my iPad Air M3 to annotate has been frustrating as the features have been so laggy that I can't handwrite text or highlight effectively.
