My contacts are different on my iPad and my iPhone. Using ICloud to sync between them (and Mac). Any suggestions?

My iPhone contacts are different from my iPad and Mac. Going to iCloud on them hasn’t worked, it says they are already connected. I’m finding out contacts that I need on my iPhone aren’t there, but can find them on my iPad. Can’t merge or link them.

I also have the same problem with mail between my devices. My iPhone will say I have a total of 300 emails on all email accounts, my iPad will say 900. My Mac is a whole different story, it says I have 1000+. When I go through my emails and delete some, it’s not showing up on the other devices. Plus now my email goes back to 2013!

Thank you!

I had the problem of contacts on my iPad not showing up on my Mac Air. It was because not all my contacts were in iCloud. To correct this I did the following, after making sure the Contacts App on my Mac Air was closed (It also helped to see my single iCloud account in the Mail App/Mail Accounts on each device):

  1. In the Contacts App on my iPad/ iPhone...I moved all the contacts I had made on other email accounts into iCloud. After making sure these contacts were moved, I then erased the contacts in these email accounts other than all that are now in iCloud.
  2. After making sure all contacts were moved to iCloud & erased from other email accounts, in the Mail App/ Mail Accounts on my iPad/iPhone...I turned off the use of contacts in each email account other than my iCloud email account. I had already made sure no contacts were left in these accounts because they had been moved to iCloud and then erased (See Step 1).
  3. Each time I turned off the use of contacts in each email account I was notified that I was about to delete my contacts in that account on that device. Since these contacts had already moved to my iCloud account on my iPad/iPhone, I proceeded.
  4. After completing these steps, I opened the System Settings (or System Preferences) on my Mac Air. I then opened my iCloud account on my Mac Air and toggled Contacts off (for 20 seconds) and on again.
  5. After completing these steps, I opened the Contacts App on my Mac Air and all of my contacts were there.
